More info:
Crown Las Vegas, formerly known as the Las Vegas Tower, is a proposed supertall skyscraper to be built on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada in the United States. If built, the tower would stand at 1,888 ft, or 575 meters, making it among the tallest in the world.
Crown Las Vegas would likely become the second tallest building in the United States after the approved 2,000 ft. (610 m) Chicago Spire, surpassing even the 1,776 ft. (541 m) Freedom Tower in New York City.
The tower would also surpass the CN Tower, which is currently the world's tallest freestanding structure on land, and the Stratosphere Tower, which is currently the tallest structure in Nevada. The Las Vegas Tower would have 142 stories and be the tallest all-hotel structure in the world. The skyscraper would also host a casino and an observation deck. The projects consists of 5,000 hotel rooms, along with 250,000 sq. ft. of casino space.
The tower would be built on Las Vegas Boulevard on the former site of the Wet n' Wild Water Park. The building's architect is the renowned architectural firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
Publishing and Broadcasting Limited reached an agreement on May 31, 2007 with the tower's developers to invest money in the project and run its casino.[1] As part of the agreement, the project was renamed Crown Las Vegas.
