Rep Power: 4 | Bodrum New Int. Airport Quote: Belgrade airport to build in Bodrum
3 August 2006 | 09:41 | Source: B92
BELGRADE -- Nikola Tesla airport has won the tender for construction and management of an airport terminal in Bodrum, Turkey.
The tender commission had decided to award Nikola Tesla airport, together with its Turkish partner Teknotes Technological Plants, with the construction of a 100 000 sq meter terminal at Bodrum. The Belgrade airport’s general manager Nebojša Nedeljković told B92 that the very winning of the tender was worth even more than the 60 million euro deal.
“For the first time a public company is exporting expertise. We stand to make a lot in the process. The competition was fierce and I am all the more proud with the result. There is always a tendency of favoritism toward the local companies, and we actually managed to win under such circumstances”, Nedeljković said.
The contract drawn to define joint participation in the tender stipulates that the Turkish company will be in charge of the terminal’s construction, while Nikola Tesla airport will run it for five years, with an estimated profit of four million euros. According to Nedeljković, the airport will manage the entire complex, putting together a local management of the new passenger terminal and taking part in the expansion of the Bodrum terminal. The construction will start in 2007 and will last two years
