This press article (source:L'Orient de Beyrouth) talks about the Lebanese immigration towards Costa Rica. It mentions the different families of Lebanese origin living in Costa Rica. Some of them have acquire very important status in the political and economical fields of the country even there is a village in the South of Costa Rica called "Ciudad Neily" (Neily City) in honour of the founder: Mr Neily who had Lebanese origin as well as the first President of the Stock exchange of Costa Rica, Mr. Barzuna.

Actually, there are also 300 Lebanese-Costa Ricans leaving in Lebanon and there are 180 Lebanese citizens leaving in Costa Rica, according to the figures given by the Consul of Lebanon in San Jose, Mr. Albert Karam. It seems that there are about 3'000 Costa Rican with Lebanese origin. All these people arrived at the time of the Ottoman Empire and they decide to stay there.

Best Regards !
