You'll be happy to know that the QLD government is not spending that much on this. As KJ said, most of the money will come from a private entity... (one of Macquarie bank's deep pockets). Just like the NSBT was a private-council partnership..
And this project is going to make the most difference in Brisbane. At the moment you have to drive through an industrial zone full of huge trucks and pot holes to get to the CBD... a capital city shouldn't be like that. I'm very happy with this at the moment... GOODBYE AIRPORT ROUND'A'BOUT!!
