Ira, I don't think the government will have an issue with non jewish people getting apartments in Israel.
The fact that they purchase an apartment in Israel doesnt give them any citizenship rights so the government will be happy because it will be good for local real estate and construction businesses.
Also they probably will live 2-3 months in these apartments like rich people from France or US do.
I for one don't believe there will be a big demand from Russians and I doubt there will be so many russian tourists as they say it will.
Most likely we will see some surge in the beginning , but in a few months the number of tourists going to Israel will be back to what it is now.
As far as I know most Russians prefer Turkey or Egypt because everything is so much cheaper and you get pretty much the same experience for less money.
I think Russia has much more to gain from this deal then Israel.
There will be much more people here who will want to visit their relatives in Russia and this flow will be a stable one as opposed to russian tourists in Israel who have no ties here. |
