here is some stats:
israel has 230 million trees, or 30 per person.
1 million were destroyed by rocket-caused fires and other fires in 2006, 12,000 dunams during the war.
over 2 million more will be planted during the next 2-3 years.
in the north negev desert, 3 million trees were added in the last decades.
we are the worlds only country to enter this century with a net gain of trees, while some
countries have lost nearly 30% of their forests/trees.
