| If bezeq continue charging monthly "connection" fee, I can assure u their business model is seriously ****ed. they are now in panic and trying a monthly fee for zero pay on a fixed number of calls to keep people from switching, instead of offering zero monthly fees and pay for calls only.

| In Canada, short-distance calls (basically akin to any calls within Israel) are free, but you still pay a monthly fee. It's a model that works fairly well. Personally, I don't really care about the price of Bezeq's calls or line fee (it's pretty cheap on the whole - you can talk for hours with another Bezeq number and pay next to nothing), but the amount they charge for using the internet infrastructure (DSL) is preposterous, especially when you compare to the low prices of the internet providers (competition rocks). That's what happens when Bezeq still owns the infrastructure. Having said all the above though, I have much more of a beef with cellphone companies than either Bezeq or Hot. There are several major cellphone companies, and they all overcharge and don't fairly compete with each other. It's ridiculous that in our day and age we should still be paying 40-80 agoras per minute for a call to the same cellphone company! The prices have stood almost completely still for years now and it's becoming extremely annoying. I've been paying the same amount of money per minute since my first black and white Ericsson phone. | |||||||||||
