After 30,000(!) people have already signed up for Israeli channel 10 Survivor season 2, they have decided to team up with a new application that will make the process into a reality show in itself: some of the contestants will be chosen by facebook users: people will be able to elect or stand for election, by a popularity contest, and will get priority status in the regular auditions.

The new application will be available from this saturday, called e-sardut:

This is the first time in the world that participants will be elected by viewers in the initial stages, and also the first time that a facebook application will be used.

Cool, by the way how do you like "Surviver" Israeli style, is it just as good as the American one? I heard they don't get a million dollars like the surviver winner here.

the whow recieved very high viewing raitings, as you can see by the number of peope who signed up to be in survivor 2. If it wasnt a success they wouldnt have approved the second series because it costs quiet a lot to film it.

the first prize was a car and an apartment. apparently the project wasnt still aproved so they changed the prize to 1 million nis (~250,000$) and a car.

I wasn't asking if it was a success, I was asking whether you liked the Israeli version better? That is, of course, if you've watched both the American version and the Israeli version. I am just wondering if there are different rules, or if it is an exact copy with just Israeli people.

I watched both but when I watched the american version it was all new, so there was more excitement of course.
the Israeli version is very well made, but its twice as long as the american one with over 40 episodes (twice a week) because they wanted to fill more space. The israeli one looks like there was much more intervention by the production to keep it interesting, so it pretty much ruined it half way through and I stopped watching.
also the israeli one has more models and it sometimes looks more like a vacation with beach activities than a survival challenge.
