| Award winning actor tells Israel’s Ambassador to UN Danny Gillerman he would like to return to Israel to produce his next film project Award winning actor Tom Hanks told Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Gillerman during a recent meeting that he would like to produce his next movie on location in Israel. Hanks met with Gillerman and his wife Janice during the premiere of Hanks’ new HBO miniseries, “John Adams”. The miniseries, produced by Hanks, is a biographical account of the life of the second president of the United States, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography by renowned historian and author David McCullough. During their meeting, Hanks told Gillerman that he had visited Israel 25 years ago, while working on his very first movie (Every Time We Say Goodbye (1986)). “I remember Tel Aviv and Jerusalem very well, Israel has some gorgeous locations to film in,” said Hanks. Gillerman and Hanks arranged to meet again, and the Israeli ambassador promised the actor a guided tour of the UN Security Council and General Assembly when they meet next. “Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood’s most renowned and influential actors. I am glad that we have this opportunity to further Israel’s image overseas,” Gillerman said. Tom Hanks would like to produce next film in Israel - Israel Culture, Ynetnews | |||||||||||

| Israel should have a large film industry. It's similar to southern California in climate and a good place to shoot movies. It is the government bureaucracy that stifles the Israeli film industry. | |||||||||||
