| In two months the need for a visa permit to travel between russia and israel will be dropped by the two countries! This will save russian visitors the need to apply for visas in moscow and the same here - this move will save 150$ to travellers. There will be a building show by 25 israeli companies in moscow in november for the russian public. they see a market for 5000 apts, mostly new ones in coast towns and in higher standards than regular, in bat yam, netanya, tel aviv, ashdod which also have large russian-speaking communities, so all the travel, restaurants, tv, radio and the banks & business can be done here in russian. the flight time between moscow and tel aviv is 4.5 hours —“ש•ת ž—œק” ראש•*” - Nfc: "5,000 ר•ס™ם ™ק*• “™ר•ת ‘™שראœ ‘ש*ת™™ם"

| It will be interesting how the Israeli government will react to thousands of Non Jews from Russia buying apartments in Israel. After the first wave of purchases of new apartments there won't be a second wave. Israeli contractors don't understand the needs of foreign purchasers. I speak from experience. The Russian buyers better have representation in Israel throughout the construction phase. Israeli contractors need lots of quality control and when they finish they turn over an apartment that needs lots of finishing touches. For one thing in Israel when you get the keys to a new apartment you have to hire a cleaning company to clean the years of construction dust that accumulates. The contractors don't feel obliged to give you a clean finished product windows and floors are left to the new owner to clean up. The kitchen needs appliances bathrooms need finishing touches( up grades are only installed after the keys are received). Perhaps Russians are used to poor service so it won't be a big surprise for them. If the Israeli building companies are trying to attract luxury apartment purchasers they will have to work harder to turn over a more complete finished product to the upscale Russian buyers if they want to expand this new market. | |||||||||||

| ira youre right its a past mentality, but the standards have gone up and will continue. it used to be you couldnt make interior changes during building or choose the kitchen and bathroom it all came standard today its another story the competition is who gives more high class choices.

| Ira, I don't think the government will have an issue with non jewish people getting apartments in Israel. The fact that they purchase an apartment in Israel doesnt give them any citizenship rights so the government will be happy because it will be good for local real estate and construction businesses. Also they probably will live 2-3 months in these apartments like rich people from France or US do. I for one don't believe there will be a big demand from Russians and I doubt there will be so many russian tourists as they say it will. Most likely we will see some surge in the beginning , but in a few months the number of tourists going to Israel will be back to what it is now. As far as I know most Russians prefer Turkey or Egypt because everything is so much cheaper and you get pretty much the same experience for less money. I think Russia has much more to gain from this deal then Israel. There will be much more people here who will want to visit their relatives in Russia and this flow will be a stable one as opposed to russian tourists in Israel who have no ties here. | |||||||||||
