| 140 years ago the Levy family and others from marocco came to Santa Maria de Nieva in the jungles of peru and stayed. Since then they adopted all the tribal ways of the local inca-indian peoples of the amazon of peru in Iquitos and became just another forest tribe of learning quechua and spanish, but still keeping some judaism and mostly bringing maroccan dishes like cuscus to peru. In the past years some branches of the family came to ramle in Israel while many others still remain in Peru. 50 more came this week, and the culture shock from hunting to hummus is still big.. full story From the Jungles of Peru to Ramle Last edited by Livni; 15th April 2009 at 08:55.. | |||||||||||
