| they closed because they were way too expensive and also in not so good locations. every large cafe chain today offers you fresh veg/meat sandwiches salads and burekas selections not to mention shawarma in a lafa which is tasty and cheaper so they have a lot of competition. If they can price themselves as cheap as buying shawarma and offer big sitting areas maybe they have a chance. The thing that is really missing here is mexican fast food like tacos, nachos. The stores are small and most of the business is take out. Their success is in their freshly baked bread in each store as well as fresh ingredients sandwich meat and vegetables. The new Israeli franchise is going to put the stores in place where quality is more important than price. There first store will be in Herzelia Petuach. | ||||||||||||

| Honestly, I find Subway to be overrated. Personally, I don't like the trimmings at makes my sandwiches there very small forcing me to double the meat for more, especially on those five dollar footlongs. The only good sandwich they have is the piled high pastrami, but the rest is pretty much bland or not much. Quizno's and Blimpies give better sandwiches than Subway does anyway.

| I wonder, do they only serve kosher meats at Subway (and kosher cheese, for that matter) in Israel? | |||||||||||
