| In Fortune Magazine's ranking of 50 most powerful women in business, Galia Maor ranks in at 32 on international list along with Ofra Strauss at 47. Strongest woman in American business world is new PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi News agencies Published: 10.05.06, 19:19 Galia Maor and Ofra Strauss are named among the 50 most powerful women in business outside the United States by Fortune magazine. Maor is in the 32nd slot in Fortune's yearly ranking, while Strauss cashes in at 47. The strongest women in the American business world is the new CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi. Nooyi, who started her new position on October 1, rose ten spots since last years rankings, ousting eBay CEO Meg Whitman who had taken the first place spot for the past two years, but now dropped to third. In third place is Xerox Chairman and CEO Anne Mulcahy. The top three slots on the international list are filled by women heading French companies – telecom company Alcatel Lucent CEO Patricia Russo in first place, nuclear energy company Areva Executive Chairman Anne Lauvergeon in second place, and traing company SNCF President Anne-Marie Idrac in third. The ranking is based on the size, importance, and business health of each company and according to the momentum of each women's careers, and their social and cultural impact. The four highest paid women in the business world are Safra Catz from Oracle who made USD 26.1 million, Yahoo's Susan Decker who earned USD 24.3 million, Goldman Sachs Suzanne Nora Johnson who received USD 23.1 million, and Carly Fiorina of Hewlett-Packard who was paid USD 22.3 million. Meg Whitman, ranked formerly in first place on the power scale, is only in slot 7 when it comes to total compensation, pulling in USD 16.2 million last year.
