King David's wheels: on Segways in Jerusalem

This two-wheeled vehicle will be taking visitors on guided tours of the city, Mayor Lepolianski is already a fan
A new tourist attraction was broken in on Sunday in Jerusalem: Guided Segway tours along the "Commissioner's Palace" promenade. The Segway, a motorized two-wheeled vehicle, will take visitors on an hour long tour which leaves the "Commissioner's Palace" towards the Goldman promenade and includes explanations and observation points over the Old City, City of David and New Jerusalem. The tour costs NIS 100 (USD 24) and is suitable for ages 16 and up.
Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski launched the Segway tours on Sunday, praising the initiative.
"The City of David is constantly renewing and drawing in the public to get acquainted with the roots of the Jewish people and connect with the heart of Jerusalem. The Segway is one of the most pleasant ways to go about this," said Lupolianski, adding that he thoroughly enjoyed his ride.

At the City of David archeology site guests may visit the Shiloach Pool, Hezkiah's Tunnel and the Tomb of King David. A Herodian street
from the Second Temple era was recently uncovered at the site, believed to be a main road it connects the Shiloach Pool to the Synagogue. The street then leads to the southern area of the Southern Wall, Robinson's Arch and the Ophel Park. During the current Sukkot holiday the public has been allowed onto the street for the first time.

Excavations are still ongoing to uncover a system of canals originating from the Shiloach Pool, underneath the Herodian street. These excavations are still at their height and in the first stages of research
