Located within the anfa district of casablanca, morocco, this housing complex 'connecting riads' by madrid and beijing-based AQSO arquitectos office intends to revitalize the downtown historic area. The buildings continuously snake to generate two internal courtyards for inhabitants, mediating the gran theatre boulevard, adjacent residences and urban park. the roof profile of the wrapping structures ascend and descend to reveal the facades immediately beyond them.







Sliding screens of lattice border heavily trafficked public corridors for privacy while projecting balconies overlook the tranquil gardensand courtyards. scattered along the façade in an irregular pattern, the protruding volumes hang similar to flower pots.a staircase of vegetated terraces lines the roof planes. groupings of native trees and low-maintenance plants are placed along cobble-paved pathways.
