| Arab workers at FIBI construction site are the possible suspect for cases where people sitting at cafe close to construction site witnessed bolts and possibly cement blocks being thrown at them. The management of cafe reported the incidents to the police and the construction work was halted at Sunday. Now the work was resumed , but workers are undergoing security checks each day when they enter construction site. ידיעות תל אביב - חדשות // מי ממטיר ברגים על שדרות רוטשילד? | |||||||||||

No cafי should be left in harms way from falling debris. In Manhattan where ever there is a pedestrian walk way next to a construction site over head protection is built. | ||||||||||||

| ira , it is being reported as criminal event. At least thats how the article sounds. The main fear is that some of construction workers might be in the wanted list of security services. I must admit though that security precautions on that construction site are pretty much non existent. I remember earlier when there were two construction cranes on the site , one of them was standing right over a street so if something were to happen to that crane , it would fall on heads of people walking by. As it often happens in Israel they were trying to save money. I can also remind you the event on Neve Tzedek tower where crane actually did fall and killed one construction worker and injured a few more others. In that particular event a building across the street was ruined as a result. Again it was because the construction company wanted to save some money. They didn't bother to connect the crane to the building on enough floors so it was not stable and lost its balance when an additonal section was being added. | |||||||||||

| Ira - this particular cafe (Cacao) is across the other side of the boulevard - it's not simply underneath the construction zone (though even there, there isn't protection for pedestrians like there should be). If the 'falling debris' is really coming from the FIBI construction site, then it is not simply falling - it is being thrown. It is not possible for an object to accidentally fall across a four lane road with a four lane pedestrian boulevard running through the middle of it. | |||||||||||
