| Project to contain 68 floors, each making separate 360 degree rotation within 90 minutes The rich architecture in the Persian Gulf continues to break records, this time with an Israeli-planned rotating tower to be built in Dubai. The project was uncovered only two days ago when Israeli architect David Fisher presented a simulation of a 68 story tower that will include a hotel, living space and offices. The unique thing about this structure is that each one of its floors will be built to rotate separately around its axis which will lead to a constantly changing shape to the building. Each floor will take 90 minutes to complete a 360 degree turn. Fifty-eight-year-old Fisher was born in Tel Aviv, and migrated to Florence where he became an Italian citizen. Each floor shaped like a doughnut Fisher is not the first to plan a rotating building in the emirate. Last year a local sheikh presented an ideal for a 30-story building that would complete one single rotation per day using solar energy. Fisher is not impressed with the competition, saying, "The other tower is just a cylinder that rotates around itself very slowly. It also won't change its shape like mine will." According to Fisher's plan, each floor will be shaped like a doughnut and will be connected to the center of the building which will hold elevators, emergency stairways and other facilities. The energy for the building's rotation will be generated using wind turbines mounted between floors. In the meantime, a starting date for the project has not been set, however, if oil prices remain high, the tower could be joining the emirate's skyline within the next few years. ===================== WTF! why cant they buildin in ISRAEL... not at enemy country!!! sad!!! | |||||||||||

| Man, this guy sucks. There is no reason he shouldn't build it in Israel, we have a boom in both residential and office towers. Dubai has enough towers for a century! | |||||||||||
