| Client: Israel Land Administration Description: Master Plan for the Israel Military Industries (IMI) Hasharon Site: This is one of the largest and most significant plans in the Tel Aviv District. This plan, handled at the national level, is being promoted based on a government decision to transfer the IMI factories, which have become an environmental hazard and security risk, to the Negev. The areas that will be vacated will be designated for uses that are compatible with national planning and regional planning policies while maintaining environmental quality and maximizing economic feasibility. The plan area consists of approximately 7,460 dunams, with 22,700 housing units and 1,350,000 square meters of employment space and a total of 2,750 dunams of metropolitan parkland. The Zur Site detailed outline plan: This plan covers approximately 680 dunams. The site is divided into two principal areas: the western portion with 2000 housing units and the eastern portion with 1500 housing units. Stage 1 of the plan includes the construction of the 2000 units on the western side of the land that has already been cleared of IMI facilities. (Stage 0 calls for the construction of 400 housing units based on the existing road system.) The Eliahu Site detailed outline plan: In the framework of the general plan to clear the military-industrial lands, a portion of the “Eliahu” site has been defined as an independent planning unit, forming part of the outline plan for the IMI area in the towns of Ramat Hasharon, Herzliya and Hod Hasharon. This plan will form a new urban area connected to the existing developed urban zone of Ramat Hasharon. The plan includes 10,000 housing units with relatively high density. The plan will be brought for discussions before a joint district planning and building committee later following discussions on the master plan and the Zur site plan. Status: Master Plan MS/1 was approved for deposit for public review at a meeting of the joint district planning and building committee on December 22, 2005. The decision to deposit this plan for review has created momentum to continue with handling of the IMI plans. Services provided for this project: * Promotion of statutory plans. * Management of consulting teams. * Design review and study of alternatives. ![]() | |||||||||||
