UK GDP is 34k. not even the double... while the poorest countries of the world has a 3k gdp almost 7 times less. besides that. portugal is very strong on culture and sports... and we proved the world we can organize mega sports events very well... when we received the title of "best EURO organizer ever". i think olympics should come to Oporto, such as Barcelona for Spain. Oporto is gaining international reputation in the last years... and a Olympics will consolidate the "mega recognition". | ||||||||||||

| Portugal é o país do "quer parecer". diz-me o que ganhavamos com umas olimpiadas? ganhavamos status? ok.. ganhavamos reputação e novos complexos desportivos? muito provavel.. mas para que? o que ganhamos com o euro? todas as camaras que fizeram estadios estão neste momento endividadas por uma decada  andam a fechar clinicas, hospitais e escolas pq n há dinheiro. não se fazem vias rapidas e auto-estradas (como a substituiçao do IP3 prometida há anos) pq n ha dinheiro.. o metro mondego n arranca pq n ha dinheiro... Tu no porto podes ate viver bem mas portugal n é um pais rico e se pensas que somos como espanha ou que estamos ao nivel da europa central vives mt iludido
