Hong Kong movie star Tony Leung Chi-wai opened the doors of the StarWorld hotel and casino in Macau last night (October 19) to thousands of visitors who had queued up around the building for several hours beforehand. The first hotel and casino wholly owned by the Galaxy Entertainment Group, involving an investment of HK$2.95 billion, the 38-storey StarWorld is likely to make a much bigger impact on the Macau gaming market than the group’s four other casinos which have opened to date. With 500 deluxe hotel rooms, 200 mass market gaming tables, 30 VIP gaming tables, and a wide range of food outlets and other facilities, the StarWorld is clearly the flagship property of the Galaxy group – at least until the Galaxy Mega Resort opens on Cotai in 2008.

According to Lu Yaodong, vice chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, the total number of Galaxy-owned gamling tables in Macau is now 700. He predicted Galaxy would take 25 per cent of Macau’s gaming market by the end of the year

Galaxy Waldo Casino

Waldo Casino has been entertaining VIP players from all over Asia since July 2004. Visitors
will find the casino, located on one of Macau's main pathways, only a short drive or walk from the
Macau Ferry Terminal & Heliport.

Sands Macau is a one million square foot casino and entertainment complex.
The first Western-operated gaming facility in The People's Repuplic of China's Special Administrative Region of Macao,
