Shenzhen is a large industrial and commercial city in southern Guangdong Province, located near Hong Kong Special Autonomous Region. In 1980, in Shenzhen was established first of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in China. Currently Shenzhen's SEZ is a hub of southern China industry and export, servicing as second largest port of mainland China, after Shanghai. Population of the city rose from abt 30,000 before 1980 to 14,000,000 currently, incl. 'floating workers'.
