Planned in the late 50's and brought to life in the 60's, Islamabad was known to be an administrative and dull city throughout the 70's and 80's. Today, with a population of more than a million, Islamabad is a symbol of new Pakistan, and is no longer a dull or boring city. |  Islamabad of the 80's. Pic of Shah Faisal mosque.  Main boulevard in from of the parliament house. The area is known as Blue area.   road alongside which most embassies are located. This road also leads to the parliament building.  blue area buildings decorated in local style. | |||||||||||
