Papagayo & Sus Proyectos
Campo del Golf de Arnold Palmer
To tap into the sophisticated splendors of Peninsula Papagayo is to be quickly seduced by the allure of a masterful 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course...his premier venture in Latin America. Hugging diverse terrain borne of an ancient lava flow from distant Rincón de la Vieja, 6,788 yards wind their way through 125 acres of undulating fairways and greens. A variety of shots challenge players of all skill levels. Dramatic elevation changes stir the senses. Variegated terrain, ranging from forest to valley to seacliffs, ensures every fairway provides a major photo opportunity and every hole calls for a unique approach.
Though the course was envisioned to challenge yet not overwhelm, the scenery doesn’t adhere to these principles. Fourteen oceanview holes could very well spoil one’s concentration. A family of playful white-faced monkeys is always a welcome distraction. The rewards lie both in a memorable round of golf and an ecological tour through exotic flora and an abundance of curious fauna.

Campo del Golf de Jack Nicklaus
Hugging a sheltered valley between Papagayo's north and south peninsulas, the captivating par-72 layout takes its course from the path of majestic 200-year-old mangroves. Roughly 7,100 yards offer varied elevations and views, from the top of a coastal plateau, through the wooded Palmares area, culminating along Bahía Huevos-a tranquil bay filled with graceful sailboat moorings and seabirds.
A personal escape to the new Jack Nicklaus Design Course at Peninsula Papagayo is yet another way to indulge one's passion for the game in one of its most magical and memorable arenas.
Tennis enthusiasts relish the chance to be players and spectators at the Peninsula Papagayo Tennis Complex, reserved for resident members and hotel guests. Four landscaped clay courts, featuring Har-Tru surfaces, create an impressive venue for competitive sport and recreational play. A large stadium court, with its own 344-seat gallery, is ideal for staging tournaments and events.
For beginners and avid players who want to improve their games, a top-notch tennis staff, including a resident pro, will organize private and group lessons, clinics, round robin tournaments and player match-ups.
True to Peninsula Papagayo's philosophy of living life to its fullest, each resident member of Peninsula Papagayo Club reaps the pure pleasure of home ownership. Yet with none of the responsibilities. All the personalized services of a dedicated Club Concierge staff are just a call away, seven days a week. If they weren't already expressed in anticipation.
To further enhance one's time in residence, the impeccable Club Concierge staff can assist with golf, dining, hotel and spa reservations, business services and arrangements for activities and tours. Additional customized services include airport transportation, orchestrating special events and preparing a home for one's arrival by stocking it with an array of local delicacies…from fresh fruits and coffees to sensual Costa Rican floral arrangements.
Situated just a stone's throw from the Golf Clubhouse, the indispensable Residential Services office is just one of an array of amenities designed to cater to Peninsula Papagayo Club members and their guests in one central setting. A well-stocked general store, with its espresso bar and deli, will offer enough comforts and conveniences to ensure satisfaction of daily necessities.
As a member of Peninsula Papagayo Club, residents can savor each day feeling utterly pampered or thankfully forgotten, a privileged inhabitant of this tropical hideaway.
La Marina U&C
3,000 years ago, this country’s inhabitants saw Peninsula Papagayo as the ideal seafaring environment. It still is.
Tucked within the calm blue waters of Bahía de Culebra, the first phase of the approximately 350-slip Marina Papagayo is planned to premiere in 2009. Phase I of Marina Papagayo will accommodate sportfishing boats and palatial mega-yachts alike, plus impressive facilities that will provide nautical Papagayo residents with full services as well as easy access to their vessels.
Situated at the northernmost port of entry to Costa Rica, Marina Papagayo will offer world-class marine services in an unbeatable setting. Indulge in cocktails or the catch of the day. Work out at the gym, connect to the internet or stock up on supplies at the well-equipped convenience store. A bountiful ocean world entices with spectacular deep-sea fishing, diving and snorkeling.
Un lugar para vivir
A collection of private addresses within Peninsula Papagayo offers the opportunity to own a luxurious custom home in a place that inspires originality and creativity. Designed and crafted by some of the finest architects and builders in the Americas, each distinctive custom residence reflects the rare beauty of its Costa Rican setting. A palatial estate fronts the lush fairways of the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. A dreamy haven overlooks the blue waters and sandy beaches of the Pacific coastline. An exotic retreat nearly disappears into an unspoiled forest filled with wildlife. Every home is a tribute to individual artistry.
In keeping with Peninsula Papagayo's commitment to traditional craftsmanship, each breathtaking custom home is custom-crafted down to the smallest detail. Organic materials complement the finest finishes, echoing the colors and textures of the landscape. Imaginative floor plans capture the sensuality of an indoor/outdoor existence. Lavish living spaces inspire a lifestyle oriented to sunsets, refreshing breezes and panoramic views. Every modern convenience is wrapped in tropical luxury.
All of Peninsula Papagayo's custom homes have been designed to protect the integrity of this exclusive community as one of the most sought-after living environments in the world.

Papagayo Masterplan & Proyectos
2,300 acres of sublime beauty, the land itself draws the blueprints. As it should be. Separate resort environments are secluded among their own natural bowls. Private residential neighborhoods blend harmoniously with bluff edges and towering trees, leaving the lowlands wild and pristine.
From the most seductive corner of the coast, Peninsula Papagayo’s private entry whispers of untold treasures. Come as a guest and explore the riches of a world-class resort environment brimming with enriching opportunities. Come as a resident and relish the notion that there is literally a lifetime to experience each one of them.

Revolution LLC, Created by AOL Co-founder Steve Case, Building a One&Only
Resort and Tom Doak 18-hole golf course at Cacique on the
Northwest Coast of Guanacaste, Costa Rica
SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA, August 3, 2007 – Revolution LLC, the company created by AOL co-founder Steve Case, today launched Revolution Places, an original approach to sustainable destination resort communities. In support of the launch, Costa Rican President Óscar Arias Sánchez and Revolution Chairman Steve Case jointly announced at a press conference today in Costa Rica the first development, Cacique, Costa Rica, a first-of-its-kind 650-acre luxury resort community scheduled to open in 2010.
Revolution Places will bring together premiere hospitality partners and innovative lifestyle brands to develop a new authentic vacation experience that retains the local environment and culture. With a full complement of sustainability principles and community involvement, Revolution Places will create high-end developments that provide consumers with treasured and limited for-sale vacation real estate. These developments will also feature personalized service and unique amenities for home owners.
“Revolution Places is an entirely new approach to destination resort development,” said Steve Case, chairman & CEO of Revolution LLC. “We are bringing together the best of the best to deliver an ownership and guest experience like no other resort in the world. Importantly, we will preserve the local environment and culture when developing resorts like Cacique, Costa Rica to ensure our presence is a positive and welcome contribution.”
“I am extremely pleased to welcome Steve Case and Revolution to Costa Rica. I am confident that Mr. Case, like other investors and visitors we have been fortunate to host, will find in our country a place where education and hard work are valued,” said President Arias. “With this solid foundation, our economy is growing beyond traditional strengths such as agriculture and tourism to encompass an increasingly diverse array of industries and exports; our country is home to both peace and progress. Furthermore, I recently announced a new initiative, Peace with Nature, which seeks to make our country carbon-neutral by the year 2021. This will ensure that our proud tradition of environmental stewardship grows ever stronger.”
Revolution Places is led by a world-class management team that has built exceptional, leading companies. Donn Davis has been named CEO of Revolution Places Group, in addition to his role as executive chairman of Exclusive Resorts, also a Revolution LLC company. Philippe Bourguignon has been named vice chairman of Revolution Places Group and CEO of its development group, Revolution Places Development.
Davis will continue to serve as executive chairman of Exclusive Resorts, a company he has built into the leading luxury destination club and, in doing so, defined an entirely new luxury industry. Bourguignon is a recognized international business leader, having served as co-CEO of the Davos-based World Economic Forum, chairman and CEO of Club Mediterranee, and chairman and CEO of Euro Disney.
The first major destination under development by Revolution Places is Cacique, Costa Rica. The new luxury resort community located on the northwest coast of Guanacaste, Costa Rica spans 650-acres owned by Revolution Places. The $800 million resort development will also feature multiple, synergistic luxury real estate products to open in successive phases beginning in 2010.
“After searching the hemisphere, we have selected Cacique, Costa Rica as the ideal location for our first Revolution Places resort community,” said Bourguignon. “We are creating an environment that departs from the gated and manicured environment of conventional developments. Cacique, Costa Rica preserves the essence of the local culture and natural beauty, while offering luxury and wellness. This is a place where people are not only guests, but participants in a uniquely authentic experience.”
The development of Cacique, Costa Rica will feature highest-end services and amenities with a focus on intelligent, environmentally friendly designs that reduce energy and water demand and take advantage of spatial, wind and solar patterns to maximize natural ventilation, shade and daylight. Cacique, Costa Rica will establish a comprehensive recycling and solid waste management program to neutralize the impact of this development on the surrounding environment. Additionally, Cacique will create on-site treatment facilities to re-use wastewater and will purchase its electrical power for the community from renewable sources. World-class architecture and design will be integrated with indigenous traditions, environment and materials, to create an experience that is second-to-none and authentically Costa Rican.
“Costa Rica reminds me of Hawaii when I was born there nearly 50 years ago,” said Case. “We are aiming to take the things that make authentic Hawaii so special, such as the connections to the local people, restaurants, shops and the spirit of aloha, while bringing together the best brands and applying the best principles and practices of today. Our goal is to break new ground as we strive to make Cacique, Costa Rica the best resort in the world – and a model for a new kind of resort for the next generation.”

All real estate components will be designed and developed under best-of-breed master architectural and resort community planning standards.
Doing Well While Doing Good
Revolution Places understands that the success of its developments is contingent on the well-being of the local community and the environment. To this end, Revolution Places today announced that it is investing in a series of local Costa Rican community initiatives that initially include:
* The donation of 1 million trees to the government-chartered Foundation for the Balance between Conservation and Development
* The donation of hydro-geological studies of the Panama aquifer and watershed
* The donation of computer learning centers to the towns of Filadelfia, Hermosa, Panama and Sardinal
* A $1 million investment to encourage and support the development of local non-profit efforts. Modeled after The Case Foundation’s Make it Your Own Awards, Revolution Places will make grants of up to $35,000 to individuals and local organizations that develop initiatives to improve and protect the Costa Rican environment. A panel of judges from the region will be responsible for selecting those who receive the grants. Full details of this program will be revealed in the summer of 2008
With Cacique, Costa Rica the development and operations of the community is expected to create more than 2,000 new local jobs. These jobs will range from construction and maintenance to guest services and managerial roles. In addition, the company expects to partner with local businesses as Cacique, Costa Rica is developed and will maximize purchasing of locally produced goods and services for construction and operations.
