Our goal is, to develop an internationally-renowned, green-architecture convention center and retail/business facility to serve the ever-increasing demand in Costa Rica from foreign investors and businesses. The World Center will serve a capacity of 7,000 attendees, and shall contain a Performing Arts Center, 2 five-star hotels, 2 condo-hotels, and an office complex, as well as retail stores, restaurants, and entertainment. The Exhibit Halls themselves will feature all of the modern amenities, including state-of-the-art sound, video, and lighting. The World Center will encompass 10.8 hectares, located on Costa Rica’s newest, largest, most modern highway, scheduled to be opened to the public in 2010.

This World Center features an advanced green energy design. Electricity for the center will be 100% self-sufficient, drawing power from a massive bank of the best solar panels on the market, as well a wind mills to be placed on top of each building. The wind mills are specially designed to not create disturbances among people.

Costa Rica is ripe for this type of major international center thanks to sustained growth and continued influx of foreign investment for the past 15 years. A large variety of international companies have established a presence here, including notably Intel, Procter and Gamble, Hospira, and Baxter Healthcare. Many of these companies continue to expand their Costa-Rican based operations, and new companies continue to open operations in Costa Rica. Costa Rica has been and remains an attractive destination to large multi-national companies not only because of the democratic political stability of Costa Rica, but due to the education, skill level, English ability, and work ethic offered by the country’s citizens.

Business, professional and government leaders, convention and entertainment promoters, and many companies dedicated to local tourism, have expressed the urgent need for world- class convention and meeting facilities in the region.

LOCATION

While still in many ways maintaining its traditional feel of a typical Costa Rican town, along with its predominantly Costa Rican population, small stores, bars, restaurants offering local and international cuisine and Sunday fresh fruit and vegetable markets, Santa Ana has been recently experiencing real estate and commercial development unprecedented in the entire Central Valley. It has become the place of choice with upscale grocery stores, gourmet restaurants, banks, gas stations, medical and dental clinics, beauty salons, coffee houses, hotels, business centers, private schools, malls and small commercial centers springing up everywhere. Located on the outskirts of the capital city of San José, Santa Ana nowadays combines all the advantages of a metropolitan lifestyle with the comforts of country living.

The Quality Real Hotel Santa Ana is conveniently located in the heart of the new business district of Santa Ana near the Business Centers Forum I & II, and is about twenty to thirty minutes from the international airport (depending on traffic). The Business Centers Forum I & II offer state of the art business facilities meeting international standards in technology, design and parking where comfort in the work environment is set as the number one priority. Office spaces start at 200 m², the complex is backed up by its own emergency power plant, its telephone central counts with over 4,000 lines and connectivity has been secured through fiber optic cables to deliver the services of ICE, RACSA, AMNET and CABLE TICA.

The Mall Multiplaza, the biggest mall in Costa Rica, as well as PriceSmart (Costco) and Office Depot, are about fifteen minutes away in the direction of Escazu. The mall is home to over 100 businesses, a large food court, modern movie theaters showing North American movies in English, banks and financial institutions, department stores, restaurants and over 1,000 parking spaces.

CIMA hospital, a frequent choice of expatriates, and the Clinica Biblica, a Tulane University affiliate both offer excellent, affordable diversified medical care with mostly English speaking staff and accept most North American medical insurance plans. CIMA is about fifteen minutes from Santa Ana.

Design:
The World Center convention and business facility shall be Central America’s largest and most technologically advanced center. Coupled with this modernity, the World Center shall give visitors a sense of the history, beauty and culture of Costa Rica. The Center shall be located on a modern mega-highway, yet also shall be surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural canyons of Costa Rica.

Timing:
We are currently in Master Planning phase and should have all permits and designs in place by September 2009 for the first investment exit of the project. The hoteliers are expected to be named in the second quarter of 2009. First final exit completion date is estimated to be by November 2011. The original equity contribution repay should be completed by July 2010.

Our Team:
Pacific West Development Group, comprised of experts in project development, project management, and contract negotiation as well as local legal and field policy experts, collectively has over eighty years of experience in commercial and residential real estate investments. We are currently involved in several major projects in Costa Rica.

La verdad que sí, este proyecto está increíble y lo que me encanta es que va a ser super amigable con el ambiente, como deberían empezar a ser todos los proyectos del futuro.
