The multi-purpose tower is meant to be a landmark for the Iranian capital and meet the TV and telecommunications needs of the city. It is mainly designed to:
1. Establish and develop a wireless access system
2. Lay the foundation for new television transmission systems
3. Optimize the radio and TV coverage system
4. Render weather-related and traffic control services
5. Expand and optimize the coverage of wireless and positioning systems
6. Establish tourist attractions and make better use of tourism, trade and cultural potential (Rotating restaurant, observation deck, arts gallery, sky dome, and an Islamic Revolution museum)

The 435-meter tower includes a lobby at the foot, covering some 16,900 square meters in area, a 315-meter-high concrete shaft, a 12-story head structure which is some 13,200 meters in area and a 120-meter metal mast. The three main shafts of the main structure hold six 20-person panoramic elevators which go up at a speed of seven meters per second. The chart below offers an insight into features and different uses of the head structure and lobby.

It is approved and in construction.. sorry i was kinda distracted while i was making this thread lol. It has had an 8 year delay in construction as it is a governmental project. It is near its final stages BUT progress is at a snails pace
