Default First impressions of Tel-Aviv

I just arrived in Tel-Aviv and will be here for one month. The weather is great not too hot and not too cold. The city has a sense of change. Lots of new buildings right next to old delapidated ones. There is a sense of very modern right next to Israel of the 1950's and 1960's.

Streets are pretty dirty no one seems to notice. Lots of traffic, no place to park. People out and about lots of motion and activity. There is a similarity to New York lots of mixture of diferent nationalities.

These are just a few first impressions.

I visited Tel Aviv almost two years ago, and my impression is that Tel Aviv is a very interesting, wild, great and expensive city. Tel Aviv has a lot of contrasts and that is why is a unique and nice experience to walk in tel avivian streets, but i agree with you with the traffic jams in that city

The beach is incredible, the city is very dynamic, the people very friendly and the food quite good.

Plus there is a bauhaus renovation project going on in Tel Aviv right now so u probably are going to see more of that new and old buildings mixed.

I want to go back to Tel Aviv i really like it, i hope that some tel avivians can tell us more interesting stuff about the city.

It so happens that the very area you describe is exactly where I'm staying. I'm at Mazeh and Rotchild. From what I have seen of the neighborhood most of the people are typical western cultured. You find similar people anywhere in the west. Are what you are trying to say that they are unique in Israel and the rest of the country isn't very western in it's culture.
