Chapultepec Castle, a palatial building located atop the hill of the same name, in the middle of Chapultepec Park, located in Mexico City at an altitude of 2325 meters over sea level. It was built by Viceroy Bernardo de Galvez and Madrid on the Hill of the Grasshopper (Chapultepec is Nahuatl word "Chapulli, grasshoppers, and sod (tl), hill Chapultepetl" which means "hill of grasshoppers" or "hill of the grasshopper "). Built in the era of the Viceroyalty of New Spain as a summer house for the Viceroy. In 1785, at the time of the Viceroyalty, Viceroy Bernardo de Gálvez ordered the construction of a house in the height of the hill of Chapultepec.
