Chief of State shows interest by the proposal that would be an advance in the matter of massive transport and that would help to reduce to the distances between the Capital District and the state of Vargas

The project of electromagnetic train that will link Caracas to La Guaira was presented last Thursday by Alberto Cerra, head of the proposal in the science area and technology, to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.

The initiative consists of a railroad impelled by magnetic force granting greater power and minor to him limitation in zones difficult diminishing the environmental impact since it does not produce ecological deforestation nor damages.

The exhibition was made in spaces of the Military school, and president Chávez was accompanied by the ministers of the Defense, Raul Isaiah Baduel and Infrastructure, Jose David Cabello, in addition to members of the Military High Command that accompanied to the head by the State during the saluting by End Year the National Armed Forces.

This proposal was presented 40 years ago but until now it did not have counted with the receptivity on the part of the governmental authorities. Cerra explained still more to the head of the State that this initiative arose to give answer to the necessities of massive transport of the nation, taking into account the topographical conditions of the region.

It said that the electromagnetic force worked since it displaying the particularitity to diminish the technical limitations. In addition, the system counts on batteries to manage to correct the faults by reasons for energy deficiencies so that the system continues working as much for the massive transport as the one of load. The proposal was initially presented to the holder of the military office, who was in charge of which he became an important alternative for the Vargas State people, and of that knew the head the State.

For president Chávez these initiatives, as well as anyone of scientific type must respond to the necessities of the group more and more, because otherwise it would not be worth the trouble to develop investigations of this type that really means the positioning of science and the technology to the service of the humanity.

President Hugo Chavez made a route by the facilities of Tiuna Fort, during which he visited the scale model of the project for the electromagnetic train Caracas-La Guaira.

The President maintained a conversation with the head of the project, Alberto Cerra Valls, who expressed the necessity to construct this new one communication channel, which, besides to use technology of last generation, would allow to make agile the transfer between Caracas and the state of Vargas, he reviewed the Bolivarian News Agency.

Cerra Valls indicated, in addition, that this technology has been used successfully in several countries, between which it mentioned to Japan and China.

The project is promoted by the Ministry of the Defense and supported by the National Government, with the purpose of obtaining results in the short term.

During the route, president Chávez was accompanied by the minister of the Defense, Raul Isaiah Baduel, and the minister of Infrastructure, Jose David Cabello.

The director of the project explained that when he is to connect localities that are in favor separated of great slopes, as it is the case of Caracas and the Guaira, is adapted the systems of railroad without wheels in which the wagons move on a magnetic field.

Cerra Valls, that is professor of the University of The Andes (ULA), makes a new attempt to obtain support for its project, because in the decade of the 80's it already proposed the alternative of the magnetic train to be applied like solution to the massive transport in the city of Mérida. However, after many analyses, in that capital it was chosen by a "trolley system".
