It would be nice to see highrises in Patras, but...

Patras:
1) Is small (350.000 inhabitants)

2) There is no airport close to Patras.

Thessaloniki:
1) Is much bigger.

2) Is located in a strategic point.

3) Has an international airport.

4) Has a great port, gateway to the Balkans

5) Is connected by train and motorways with many Balkans capitals, Vienna and Moscow.

Well, I think Athens is now crowded, so how can we solve the problem?
Skyscrapers is the best solution, of course Athens is a historical city, but this does not means that we can't built some in the suburbs, away from the Acropolis.

One thing I cant stand is when people say stuff like "Athens is a historical centre so we cant have skyscrapers."

Why the hell not? Look at the city now. Instead of historical buildings it is full of ugly apartment blocks from the 60s.

So why would skyscrapers do harm if they are at least a bit away from the centre.

There are some real shockers in Athens. But thats with every city imo.

Although if some better planning obviously, and secondly some better thought into design went into half of those buildings...
