I agree with you, Brizer - it's not one of Turner's best. Maybe it's supposed to appeal to the sensibilities of an older crowd... ![]() ![]() Development Applications Currently on Exhibition - City of Sydney This one must've slipped under Brizer's radar somehow: a stage 1 DA for a 14st/67m tower at 6 Defries Avenue, Victoria Park (that's just to the west of the Audi HQ). The Archtitects are Turner + Associates (surprise, surprise!), who seem to get more conservative with every proposal. I like. ![]() Development Applications Currently on Exhibition - City of Sydney amended DA is in for lot305 Hutchinson walk. the anglican village the tower is now 21storeys! or 75m. architects-turner and ass model ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Received notice from CofSydney today about Meriton's appeal to the Land & Environment Court against the 'deemed refusal' by both CofS and CSPC of its development at 899 South Dowling Street, Zetland (ie, Victoria Park) DA 2008/1675. The hearing is scheduled for 22-26 June. This development is the 1st stage of Meriton's invasion of Victoria Park and involves a 25 storey and an 8-14 storey building. Just to muddy the waters of confusion further, Meriton has named its section (Lot 206 & Lot 303) "Victoria Square". (Cul: do you have a pic?) | |||||||||||

| That's the one! Thanks. The other, latest Meriton is at 18-20 O'Dea Avenue, Waterloo, diagonally across the O'Dea Av/Joynton Av junction from Victoria Park, Zetland. Correction: not Meriton - see Post 5. Aside: 5 years ago when you said you lived at Zetland, people either looked at you blankly (no idea!) or reeled back in horror! (Zetland! Isn't that an industrial slum?!). So it is sweet irony that I've noticed Meriton is putting ads for its Crown Square development at Waterloo under "Zetland". Point Piper, move over! | City of Sydney Development on exhibition: 18-20 O'Dea Avenue, Waterloo, in the area known as Mid-block (O'Dea/SthDowling/ Lachlan/Bourke) of Green Square, DA Stage 1 is on exhibition. See above Post 3, identified as a Meriton project but documents cite the owners as Irwin & Sheehan who have owned the major part of the site since 1938. Architect is Martin McGrane Architects, who is not known to me and I couldn't find a webpage for them, though there are numerous mentions of them in relation to various subjects. The development will cost just under $95m, will contain 220 apartments with parking for 276 cars. Buildings range: 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 & 16, the tallest at 54.10m (177').
