| Costa Rica Under Transformation Costa Rica's Central Valley, with its developing culture, architecture, and urban and suburban living, is already home to two-thirds of the country's population. More and more communities are updating their amenities to fit the needs of people who are seeking to live in Costa Rica's financial and government center. Most recent growth has been concentrated on the west side of the Central Valley, where there is more wealth and room for new infrastructure. It is no mystery why this region has become so appealing. The area's warm, dry climate year round, fertile soil, and the cultural offerings attract people from around the globe. Currently, the southwest side of San Josh is experiencing major development. Parks, retirement communities, and houses are being built as fast as developers can put them up. In the mountains, farms are being divided into lots, turning old dairy farms into bedroom communities. Escazú, to the west of the capital, is seeing the bulk of the construction. The new freeway to the beach, slated to be completed next year, is located right alongside Escazú, and the possibility of living in an urban setting just 45 minutes from the beach attracts potential buyers and foreign investment. Condominium apartments are becoming very fashionable. Throughout the Valley, condo buildings are including special amenities that provide a comfortable and even luxurious lifestyle. Each project is typically equipped with swimming pools, spas, perhaps golf course, gymnasium, high-tech security, easy access to highways. Most also boast locations War restaurants, pubs, and shopping centers. Prices range from $70,000 to over $1 million, but when it comes to buying, it all depends on the environment you are looking lot In Escazú, you will find ritzy restaurants and entertainment centers, and some of the highest real estate values in Costa Rica. If you are searching for less expensive real estate, expect to be in a less commercial area with fewer amenities within the project. For those seeking to be homeowners, prices may run well into the $500,000 depending on location and size. Buying real estate can be a strenuous job, but it is definitely necessary to review the facts and take your time before choosing the right place for you. The following is a review of several projects around the Central Valley.
