| Zorlu Holding, which recently bought the Karayollari lot in Istanbul for 800 million $ is interested in real estate investments in Izmir. They have already bought a shopping mall in the city center and an ex tobacco warehouse which they want to convert into a hotel, residence or a trade center. Nowadays they are also interested in the new city center between Bayrakli and the port, also known as the Docklands, for which an international competition of projects has been held and Jochen Brand's project was chosen. The area was planned as the new CBD of Izmir and will hopefully be filled with skyscrapers for which there is no height limit.  Zorlu wants to start construction of a residence, hotel and trade center as soon as the plans are approved and they find a suitable lot. | |||||||||||
