I think people in beirut should be a little concerened with a big wall
of towers on the sea front that blocks sun and air and views to a big chunk
of the city behind them.
it looks like most of the +20f towers will be in the front line and the renovated
lowrise city center is behind them, and since its very dense, it could even get hotter
in summer with no breeze.

When I say that, I have a very certain city in mind where it happened

It will have little or no effects my friend, the highrise district is being bulilt at the north east of the capital ,
whereas the winds are pushed from the south and up. So no matter where you are, you will still get that breeze
(I know because I lived close to the Marina Towers hehe). Here you will see where the Marina towers and the rest
of the highrises are being built (circled in red, it is a small portion of Beirut... don't forget the county might be small
but the Lebanese capital is huge in terms of density and size.
