| Yeah sure! Do you mean in the 1st page? the main QLD projects page?Quote:
What a fantastic post. You could not be more true. Like you, I don't have anyone around me who enjoys every aspect of these gravity defying, man made marvels we call skyscrapers. Yet I am more than obsessed with them. Was it Lego? was it Sim City? or is it just the fact that there needs to be people who build, design and engineer our basic need of shelter. People in general don't realize the sheer human blood and sweat that goes into making these signatures in the sky. We are amazing beings, and the never ending wealth of imagination and creativity is shown in our buildings... our structures. We, as forumers of skyscraper sites and development forums are very special people... just remember that. Last edited by SoulVision; 9th March 2008 at 12:29.. | ||||||||||||

| Yes, I've often wondered why I like skyscrapers - it was definitely something that I picked up myself (similar to you guys, no one around me was into them to any great extent). My interest in them has always been borne of a great interest in engineering generally - I think most of us here would probably have an innate appreciation of the technical challenge it is to build one of these things. I suspect skyscrapers are much easier to overlook if you cannot appreciate them on any other basis than purely their form. I'd be interested to know if people agree with my hypothesis (more interested if they don't agree, actually!). I still wonder to some extend though, even today, why I like them so much! Anyway, enough of my rambling.
