| Its an odd mix of strictly utilitarian concrete pours, and some pre-moulded applied surfaces, as well as some decorative moulded pours. A bit confused in some ways. If you compare this to the finish on the work for Hale St, its much more functional at this point. -the various walkways are doubless going to get a finish, but the roadway itself is pretty basic. We'll have to see how this turns out. It'll all look terrible in 20 years time if they don't keep the maintenance work up (rust blemishes from iron inclusions in the aggregate seem to be a bit of a problem around Brisbane Busways) -G | |||||||||||

| True about the NB looking very utilitarian. On the other hand the designs for the Airportlink elevated expressway look dam futuristic/modern if you ask me. | |||||||||||

| It turns out that the same roadway edging is now being applied to the Hale St flyover. (3-4 panels are up already on the river side face). I think future generations are going to be able to date this road construction phase within 1-2 years by the design elements across town. On the riverside walkway you can get a really good look at the assembly process, construction logistics etc of the piling operations, revetting for the bank, pile pouring and the self-supporting bridge section moulds across the river. -G | |||||||||||
