Interesting image in this Southbank pamphlet I picked up... Showing what Southbank and surrounds may look like by 2026. I would much prefer taller buildings and Northbank certainly doesn't come close to Iconic...

^That sure is different to the visions we were getting for the area from the 80s.

Malt did this one, which looks pretty spot on!..even though the Eagle St Pier towers are possibly @ conceptual stage...Riverside Centre II came up well

What were the visions for the area in the 80's???
IMHO, Brisbane CBD could have been far far different (in a good way - e.g. potentially MUCH larger) had the CBD itself, been located in the south brisbane peninsula (that is, south bank, south brisbane, west end)

Also, loving 2xeagle street peir towers! cant wait. This pic is missing a few towers tho

Although if it were located in the South peninsula wouldn't it be less dense?? Like Melbourne's CBD which is one of the least dense... Height typically stems from lack of space and greater density.

I see where your coming from... I often wonder what it would be like if it weren't strangled by the river. Interesting concept indeed.

*Drops jaw* My god, that will be the postcard of Australia if the riveredge looks like that. That is just stunning. Easily the best skyline to come, trumping Melbourne and Sydney. Maybe having such a small CBD is a good thing after all.
