This is going on one of the best CBD sites in town, a site which is perfect for a supertall (100 storeys+) And what does it get: 23 storeys only! Snippet from today's AFR: DB RREEF announced yesterday that it had lodged a development application with Brisbane City Council for a 23-storey building in the heart of the central business district. It would add 38,000 square metres of A-grade office space to the impossibly tight Brisbane office market, although it would not be completed until late 2010 at the earliest. ...oh well, just goes to prove you can't predict where the tallies will end up, great sites sometimes don't get em and smaller sites do! | This was one of the sites that we had down as a real potential for an Australian tallest, you know, hit the 100 storey mark, but then they end up with 23st!! What bollocks, I mean, the carpark is 11 storeys I think!! That render makes it look about 120-130m, so about the same height as Charlotte Towers. It isn't a bad design, it just isn't spectacular!

| Well the bottom line is the site could have catered to a supertall, great site for a mixed use tower and if they had any vision they would have run with that. A hotel there would also have been perfect, or even some more office. It could be so much more! Last edited by Locke; 1st May 2007 at 02:13. | |||||||||||
