![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A new rail link and city cat are planned to be built! 5 weeks until council will approve it... Construction starts next year! The vision for Northshore Hamilton is the creation of an urban environment that supports a healthy and diverse community with access to a variety of housing types, community and commercial facilities, and open spaces. An integrated community focused on Northshore Hamilton’s unique riverside location provides opportunities to enhance the character of Brisbane as the River City, through public access and amenity. ![]() Situated just eight kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, Northshore Hamilton represents a unique opportunity to develop a significant brownfield site into a vibrant and diverse community with approximately 10,000 residents. Northshore Hamilton offers an unparalleled opportunity to create a new waterside precinct in Brisbane that can be enjoyed by both local residents and visitors. The proposed features of Northshore Hamilton include: * public access to approximately two kilometres of formerly inaccessible waterfront * riverwalks, public parks, cycleways, and retail and commercial outlets * a wide range of dwelling styles and options, catering for diverse residential needs * good connections to neighbouring entertainment, businesses, venues and transport * architectural, landscape, environmental and social principles integrated to provide a vibrant, sustainable community. Northshore Hamilton's extensive river frontage, proximity to the CBD, major employment nodes and transport such as the Gateway Bridge/Motorway, Brisbane's domestic and international airports, and Moreton Bay, make it ideal for urban redevelopment. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by SoulVision; 14th September 2008 at 08:42.. | ||||||||||||

| looks great and i admire the pressure to get public transport links (esp rail extension from Doomben). The only reservation i have is that it will look quite uniform and portray a 'cookie cutter' style from the river. | |||||||||||

| Just noticed they have a new site Construction on the shall we say "Display Parklands" and cafe, display centre... etc has now started and will finish in March. These Parklands are permanent so it should be good to see the first piece of the project built within months... Construction Begins at Northshore Hamilton Construction has commenced on the first stage of Northshore Hamilton. The $5 million contract for construction of the 2.5 hectare riverfront park was awarded to Basic Construction Services, with Walton Construction (Qld) Pty Ltd awarded the $1.6 million contract for the Riverside Café and Information Centre. Construction of Riverside Park is scheduled for completion in March 2008 and onsite activities have already begun, including earthworks and removal of existing pavements. Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Gary Fenlon inspected the building work on the Riverside Café and Information Centre commenced in mid-October. Construction is expected to be completed in March 2008. The Riverside Park, Café and Information Centre form part of Stage 1 of the Northshore development. Stage 1 also involves extending MacArthur Avenue, and providing services including water, sewerage and power. Construction will begin in November on the new road from Barcham Street, which will provide access to the Riverside Park and the first lots to be released to the development industry. ![]() - Aerial photo of the future site for the Northshore Riverside Park - Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Gary Fenlon inspects the park as construction begins Renders of the Riverside park and Info center (stage 1) ![]() ![]() Northshore Timeline ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by SoulVision; 26th November 2007 at 11:41.. | |||||||||||
