Where's that from? The "underground rail" I presume is the light rail system being mooted for the CBD only.

That's a different kettle of fish altogether, and it only helps the CBD and the extreme inner suburbs. Also, it's only a proposition - a dissapointingly large number of propositions such as this do not eventuate.

All I heard about was the money was set aside for inner city rail, nothing about underground...

It is in the latest South East Queensland Infrastructure plan and it is for Heavy Rail.

It has to be underground. You are not going to spend that kind of money and not get underground lines. Period.

I guess it should be interesting to see then? I would be keen to hear of any further info in this regard. Darn, a subway like the one in this thread would be a godsend.

A Subway/train/busway system to the north/south/east/west with interchanges between the systems and a single Go Card billing system would be incredible. I might think I was in Hong Kong for one of two milliseconds
