I'm just surprised they haven't mentioned it at all. The Fin review had eons of information about new infrastructure and future projects but not a word on underground rail. Its in the governments best interest to put it on the table and start planning this.

Sure have. Stayed there with friends on several occasions (Chinese people - locals). Was there in February.

Their public transport is amazing. We just use the MTR all day long and buses or KCR once there were no more MTR stations

It's fast, super clean, mega convenient.... Just a really smart system. The reason I support QLD's Go Card so much (if it actually worked) is because of the Octopus card in HK. That thing was magic on a stick.

In Shanghai you can use their PT card in taxis as well

Why can't the QLD government be this visionary? Have they bothered to look at overseas PT systems? I understand ours would be nothing like HK due to density, but heck, they could certainly make a start at something half decent.

Yea... Wait for it... "These are all 'medium term' plans to tackle QLD's traffic problems head on. They would start construction in 2100. The community has until 2050 to comment on the plans before we scrap them completelly."
