| If Brisbane had a good Subway as suggested above, the busways (East, North, Inner-North, South East and West) and a monorail or light rail around the CBD area with one single payment system (Go Card - a working one though), we'd be the envy of Australia. I'd also put an express route between surfers paradise and the CBD following the route of the M1 (high speed train), but first things first | |||||||||||

| Unfortunately it doesn't and probably never will happen Red tape and beurocracy. Two words you need to learn quickly in government circles. P.S. I was referring to your design being a good starting point. Of course a full feasability study and plan by the appropriate experts would have differences. | |||||||||||

| Sometimes I wonder if we need a new style of government... to cut all this red tape. I've studied a bit on Queensland legislation this year regarding the environment and it shocks me at the amount of acts that are actually needed. With some acts overlapping others, then you've got management plans FOR the acts and the list goes on. I'm sick of it. ----- Looks like the LNP party have a new promise... that they will "consider" an underground. Sounds like an echo of what Labour have previously stated. If they did indeed set aside 7 billion dollars, they should immediately start preliminary planning stages before it costs double in ten years. Anna! We need this!! no more drawings ![]() Watch the story, Ten News - Youtube Clip Link to article below: Last edited by SoulVision; 25th August 2008 at 07:53.. | |||||||||||
