The Hilton's facade is included in the refurb i think... Although I hope they re-clad the Hilton Tower's exterior, if thats what you meant.
Top marks for everything except height and form, it's the prettiest stumpy box out there![]()

well when i first read the article on the news.com.au/couriermail today
i was kind of shock to see that the council are letting them pulling down one of the beautifulest cinema in Brisbane to built high-rises
but with a careful read, they are just going to keep the cinema and make it an entrance
although i kind of still feel bad about it because a cinema is a cinema but i guess, its better then tearing it down to pieces
i support the new building as long as they leave the beautiful entrance, the stair case and the roof top im happy![]()

I could not be more happy with this arrangement.
At the moment, this beautiful old grand foyer serves as a gateway to some tacky 80's style chopped up cinemas... hardly what it deserves.
Now, it will serve as a gateway to a 200 seat auditorium and possible Ball room.
200 seat auditorium? or tacky red 80's style stained, dated cinema?
I though about that too bne123 and realized how good this will actually be for the Regent. A true makeover is about to happen.
These developers have balls, and I congratulate them, and studio 505 for creating this very surprising proposal.
P.S, I don't particularly care about the height and form on this tower... have you seen the proposed pattern layout on the box cavities, aka cladding? This will bring meaningless to the words height and form.
I don't think Brisbane has ever seen a building with this much class and detail. So much so that I believe the aesthetics are somewhat better than Visions.
