Reminds abit like stockland Rockhampton!

Ok, I thought that I would give my ideas, opinions and gossip that I have heard from around Town, about the redevelopments of Stockland and Willows. Deutsche Bank's Investments arm announced on Monday, 21 June 2006, that the centre will be going under $50-million expansion project, possibly to start mid-2007. Full details have not been released, however it is known that an extra 40 specialty stores, a discount department store (such as Big W or K-Mart), and an expanded and refurbished Coles Supermarkets (which is also the biggest in Thuringowa and Townsville Region), will be part of the $50-million development. And as off September 2007 (which is past mid 2007) I thought I would share my ideas and plan of the willows shopping centre, also same fourth for stockland, I base my results off the internet and gossip.

Willows-
According to the Thuringowa master plan the willows may look something like this,

Information I have heard suggest of expansion of the willows, is to go to another story (ie double story shopping centre) I’ve also found out that there are to be multi story car parks to be built to cater for future growth as population is apparently heading out that way, I’ve also heard that the shopping centre is or will be looking to spend more money on the shopping centre to cater for the needs of the bushland beach people, this is because once the new ring road is completed it will apparently be a quick route to access the shopping centre for the bushland beach people therefore making Willows shopping centre centrally located for the needs of all people. At present there is still no word as to what the shopping centre is looking at starting construction, and as to tenants at present the shopping centre has welcomed the opening Of (soon Vodafone) and Ebgames, personally I believe that willows was wanting Ebgames to go the willows as I believe people are now looking else were to shop because of the shabby look of the shopping centre, I base that last bit of information as won of my mates works for target at the willows and apparently the profits are slowly decreasing as there aren’t enough people going to the willows, personally I can see why, this isn’t won of the best shopping centers at all in Townsville.


Stockland-
I believe it won’t be to long before plans for the redevelopment of stockland Townsville are released. I have also read in many websites that in many cases the redevelopments involves spanning to near by adjacent lots and land were redevelopments of Stockland appear to be under construction there, I have also heard roomers that bunnings may lease a deal with stockies as a tenant with there redevelopment. As for the design of the redevelopment I believe it will look something like this:

I base my information on the fact that in many cases stockland redevelopments are very modern and looking towards the future, most of there new stores the stockland are opening that have 100+ tenants are very spacious ie corridors as There have been a lot of complaints on how stockland Townsville’s corridors are narrow" also the redevelopments and new stores have very high ceiling again something stockland Townsville doesn’t have. The question I wonder is if Myer didn’t go to stockland would our Townsville store be redeveloped?

so I do believe that within the next 5-6 years our shopping centers will be well above the rest and I hope that tenants will come to Townsville instead of Cairns for once, Also I never mentioned anything about Flinders plaza my beliefs is that, that complex will be the biggest shopping centre in North Queensland, Well hopefully!

Sorry for it being so long I believed there haven’t been much word on the willows redevelopment for a while, let alone any shopping redevelopments for a while.
