| Construction is almost imminent on Flinders Plaza, with demolition currently taking place for a Jan 09 start on constructions. The CBD will a whole different vibe once the long huge building within the CBD is demolished to make way for a complete rebuild as we all know will be Flinders Plaza. Should be completely gone by years end. Around 160 plus retailers in the CBD, 6 story shopping centre. David Jones still hasn’t yet been completely ruled out with the developer in "Hush" mode about who will occupy in terms of retailers the centre. Because an interesting article on 7 news 2 weeks ago showed the floor plans for the centre in which the right hand of the centre was confined to one massive store situated over 3 levels with an escalator in the shop itself, kind of hinting something big going in there because Target and K-mart are defiantly not known to have multi story shop's within regional areas. | Just abit of observation, and it seems that Lancini could be racking up tenants for the new centre, In my opinion it could be the same as residential developments perhaps? Market the development and see how much interest you get, once a certain amount of tenants/buyers have been secured then start construction? Bellow is the updated interior render of the new Flinders Plaza. Iam very excited about this shopping centre, and its good to see they still have intensions to build!  Tenants include: - Coffee Club (Another Store opens on the strand this month) - Jacquie - Portmans - Jewellery store Bellow is a render of the interior when it was released last year. | |||||||||||

| I'm really looking forward to this as Stocklands and Castletown are getting old and still on hold of their upgrades. I can't wait to shop here

| Castletown are progressing with stage two of the development, The site has been cleared and Gantries and fences have been put in place with 15m concrete beams sticking out of the ground. These next few years will see a dramatic change in terms of retail for Townsville. So many developments competing with each other, Australia's largest homemaker and lifestyle outlet centre, DFO, Stockland (Watered down vision), Willows (Still has a few more stages to go) Flinders Plaza, Stage two of Fairfield Central. | |||||||||||
