Anna Bligh has delayed building the Kawana hopital by at least 3 years. A meeting at the Kawana Community Centre in Buddina on Thursday July 10 th at 6 pm will address this, with a public rally and petition, which hopefully will gather support. At the same time Anna Bligh has announced plans to free up land around the Pumbistone Passage which was once protected from development. It seems that Anna Bligh wants to add an extra 50,000 new residents on top of the 50,000 already projected to live on the coast over the next few decades. Being pro development I would have usually thought that that was great. Not providing the necessary infrastructure seems rediculous. Could Anna be playing games with the coast? Hopefully support for the hospital does gather support as this will be great for the Sunshine Coast. If it does it will be the first time people have actively come out in support of a major project. Interesting.

Anna Bligh what more can we say. The hospital is delayed by at least two years. There are signs Kawana Shoppingworld may get the greenlight early next year as a few shops are changing hands and getting refits. Stockland are expected to make a major announcement on Kawana in March. Plans for the Sippy Downs Town Centre appear to be well grounded with council aiming to develop up to 40,000 sq.m of retail and create a vibrant University town over the next decade.
