| Well, this still hasn't happened yet  , kind of wonder when or if it will ever happen.10 April, 2006 DEVELOPER TO PUT PLAN FOR $200M CENTRE 'A $200 MILLION shopping centre is being proposed for Nambour’s Moreton Mill site, and work could begin as early as September. Sydney developer Walker Corporation will submit a development application to Maroochy Council next Tuesday which details a 38,000 square metre shopping centre, to be integrated with the State Government’s Transit Oriented Development plans for Nambour’s rail and bus station. The shopping centre is to include a Coles supermarket and K Mart and Target stores, along with 100 speciality stores, a multi-screen cinema complex and many other facilities. A 1700-space car park is also included in the application, as is a commercial precinct....' 'The State Government announced earlier this year that Nambour and Beerwah would be developed as rail and bus transport hubs linking the Coast. Walker Corp’s founder and chairman, Lang Walker, expected the proposal to be well received by Nambour residents. “Our investment in Nambour will create long-term jobs, a state of the art shopping centre with national retailers, a first-class entertainment and commercial facility, car parking, and a much- needed injection of confidence in the area,’’ Mr Walker said. ....' | |||||||||||
