JAKARTA TOWER



Jakarta Tower (588m) when Built in 2009 will be the tallest free standing Tower in the World Surpassing CN Tower (553m). The winning design was created by Murphi/Iohn from the United States. However, since the design was too costly to develop, the government opted the runner-up design by East China Architecture Design & Research Institute (ECADI), who created Oriental Pearl Tower in China.

Located in Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta across Mall Taman Anggrek (one of the largest shopping centres in Jakarta), the site sits on an open green area.

The brief is to develop a high-end residential development with a unique form, surrounded by greenery. The designers conceptualised the building to have a slender form—the tower is divided into two wings, each with a different height. They also took the surrounding greenery into the project—between the two towers, there are open spaces to allow for sky gardens and landscaping.



The corridors use natural ventilation to reduce the use of air-conditioning. Green terraces are incorporated at every six levels. The majority of the openings of the façade faces north and south to reduce heat gain.



Although the project is conveniently located close to a large shopping mall, the rest of the area is still undeveloped. Bounded by a toll road and a river, part of the challenge is to monitor the neighbouring environment and ensure that the residents’ quality of living would not be compromised.

KUNINGAN CITY, another Mixed Use Development in Jakarta

Flagship Project of Agung Podomoro in Casablanca



Agung Podomoro develops another Super block in Jakarta. It’s Kuningan City, located in Jalan Satrio near Casablanca Tunnel, Kuningan. This mixed used project will take investment of 2.2 trillion IDR (224 million USD); 70% of capital comes from Agung Podomoro Groups and 30% from Bank’s Loans.



Kuningan City is situated in the site of 3 hectare wide. Total floor area will be 387,000 m2. This flagship project consists of two apartment towers (40 stories and 468 units of each), one office tower (31 stories, 64,000 m2 total floor area), one entertainment retail (40,000 m2 floor area) equipped with convention hall of 1,000 persons capacity, and multilevel car park of 3,400 car unit capacity.



Designed by DP Architects Pte Ltd, Architecture consultant of Singapore, Kuningan City will finish in 2010.

Handaka Santoso, CEO of PT Arah Sejahtera Abadi, the subsidiary company of Agung Podomoro Group said that this project aims middle-up market segment who aspire easy-access residential and entertainment places. People can work, relax, and play at one place.



Concurrently, Agung Podomoro is also building another mixed use project in Tanjung Duren, Jakarta, namely Podomoro City. This flagship projects is also designed by DP Architect of Singapore and consists of office tower, hotel, apartments, shopping mall, and shopping arcades.

REGATTA The Icon, a Nautical Theme Superblock in Jakarta



Every country has iconic building: Eiffel Tower in Paris, Leaning Tower of Pissa in Italy, Pyramid in Egypt, and Statue of Liberty in US. What about Indonesia? The next icon of Indonesia will be REGATTA, a collaborative mega project between PT Dharmala Intiland and PT Global Ekabuana.

Created by architect WS Atkins who also designed Burj Al Arab in Dubai, REGATTA The Icon comprises 10 apartment towers, hotels, Aqua Park and Service Apartment in a land of 11 hectare. With a view facing Java Sea, the exclusive residential REGATTA offers waterfront living concept.

Word “Regatta” comes from a type of ship used for racing, and it is transformed into the silhouette of sailing ships and a lighthouse.



The price list:
- Sea View Type Apartment Unit, 260 m2 = US $400,000.
- Aqua Park Type Apartment Unit, 243 m2 = US $452,630.
- Penthouse Type, 450 m2 = US $842,100.

Project Manager of BKMB, Aryadi Limansagita said that the construction will be finished in November 2009.

The Plaza Indonesia Extension project is the second phase of a super-block development, located at one of the most prestigious intersections in Jakarta.
