E.U.

I have read that turkey aren´t happy with EU about de join process!! And I´ve read that more than half population don´t like the idea of being part of european union! I think that You must feal european if turkish and european, not turkish only, and think that EU is only a lot of money for Turkey, because it isn´t!!! Tell me your opinions!!

I am against EU membership and everybody I know is against... I believe, semi- and well-educated people in Turkey are mostly against EU membership. I feel somehow european, but not only european, my turkish identity is much stronger. There is no way to make me say "I am european" when it is asked to me where I am from or what nationality I am. I feel somehow european, because there is no other culture that I feel closer to...
By the way... EU doesn't mean any money for Turkey, in contrast Turkey means a lot of money to EU. This is my opinion and I believe this is also every educated turkish person's opinion. If you are looking to the current situation, yes, some people who don't know what is going on may think that EU means money to Turkey, yet we are not going to be a member this year. In 10-15 years Turkey will not need EU money at all, in opposition EU will need Turkey's economic growth and Turkey's economic driving force. So, probably in 5-10 years 90% of turkish public will be against EU, and in 10-15 years, I guess only european people living and working in Turkey will want Turkey's accession to the EU. cheers...
