Fransa cepten yiyo... Yazik Almanya, garibim, essek gibi calisiyo adamlar, dunyanin en buyuk ihracat ulkesi 800-900milyar dolar civarlarinda yanlis hatirlamiyosam, adamlar hala ekonomik problemlerle savasiyolar. amerika'nin almanyanin ihracati kadar dis ticaret acigi var, bana misin demiyo... Ingilterenin parasi almanyadan daha degerli... Italya da Almanya'nin yandan yemisi... O yuzden calismak zorundalar, uretmek zorundalar, kazandiklarini alin teriyle kazanmak zorundalar...
Benim ODTU'den bi hocam kucuk-orta olcekli sanayicilerle bi arastirma projesi baslatmisti... Kendi anlatyodu bana, kriz zamani adamdan yilda 3000 dolar gibi cuzi bi para istiyomus, adam "ya krizdeyiz hocam, kusura bakma, perisan olduk, olduk bittik" diyip ucak buyukluundeki mercedesine binip gidiyomus...

I don't totally agree with that... For the current situation of Turkey, it shouldn't be the focus to discover everything once again, yet the focus should be "to learn what is known by other countries and improve them"... For this purpose, sending students and researchers to developed countries is definetely beneficial... These people are like the agents who would bring the knowledge back to the homeland... The point is that Turkey should try to attract these people back to the country...
Again a story out of my memory... When I decided to go to the University of Michigan, I was feeling bad, because I was feeling as if I am abandoning my country and university. I was complaining about myself to my professors at ODTU. These professors are usually quite nationalist and patriotic, but their answers were very surprising for me... They said exactly this; "You should go... go and learn and bring the knowledge back. You and people like you will be our face there, your successes will be our advertisements, you are representing a country there... If people like you, they will like Turkey, if people think you are successful, they will think Turks are good engineers etc. If you get into business or research etc. there, you will give jobs to turkey, or people who know you will colloborate with Turkey. You will basically be our connection with these developed countries. If you stay here, we will be able to provide you limited resources for your development, you are going to a place with virtually unlimited resources, and you will benefit, so will we... The only thing is that you should always keep your country on top and never loose your Turkish identity"
It was very interesting moment for me...

Cok guzel tespitler

Another thing about sending people to foreign countries...
I was listening to the CEO of Hyundai in Turkey. He said "don't be afraid of brain immigration (beyin gocu demek istiyom ). It is not something bad, encourage it." Everybody was sooo surprised to hear this... Anyway, he continued and explained why... He said "The same happened in S. Korea. All the students were going out of the country for education, because we didn't have enough resources to provide a competitive education. A lot of valuable people went to foreign countries, became professors, managers, CEOs etc. At the moment when S. Korea's economy got slightly better and able to offer good opportunities to these people, all of these people rushed back into S. Korea, they were full with experience and knowledge, and so, we instantly achieved such a high knowledge and experience level that other countries worked really hard and achieved in decades. So, we did not start from scratch, in contrast we were already close to the developed countries' level, thanks to these people"
